VLC media player is prone to a remote code execution vulnerability.
The vulnerability is caused due to an error within the VLC Multimedia Plug-in for Firefox to reproduce embedded video files. By persuading a victim to open a specially crafted web page in a browser using this plugin that passes to "src" parameter a non-existant file, a remote attacker could cause a memory corruption and execute arbitrary code on the system with the privileges of the victim.
